its been super busy as expected. can't really write anything in a chronological order. so, i'm just gonna blog whatever that comes into my mind. one of the most recent event was the BNTS/ANTS camp back in Ipoh. travelled back last Thursday and attended the camp as a first aide. and no, i do not have any experience with first aid. :/ which explains why i am so ever grateful that the only first aid i performed was putting a plaster on a girl's hand.
the rest of the camp was spent in the media room (which is air-conditioned :D) playing cards and practicing my snap while the campers march under the hot sun or sit in classes being coached on goal setting and whatnot.
the picture below was taken after we threw water balloons and splash water on each other. the water balloons were for the games we prepared for the campers but it started raining and we had to send the campers back in to avoid any of them falling sick. then, we took the liberty of not wasting the water balloons we made and had fun while at it.

it was pretty uneventful but it did make me realize how much i miss marching and how smart and handsome the Boys' Brigade uniform is. anyone looks good in it, even girls.
went for dinner with the BFFs immediately after the camp ended. really glad for the opportunity to meet up with them because i thought i wouldn't be able to. we had a very compressed and efficient sharing over the 2 hours-ish time we had together. (: we managed to catch up on the important stuff and then nearly died twice on the way home but all was good and in no time, i was on the train back here.
before i left for camp, there was a Mamak competition where my team mate, Jolene and i were to make roti canai in the most creative manner possible. it was interesting, i guess but not very successful unfortunately.
what else? so far i'm concentrating on the Future In Neon stuff. was in uni these past two days helping out with the student help desk booth. a good experience plus we get to meet people and hopefully, invite them to CF and all that. explains the lack of sleep i'm getting.
i finally entered modern communication with the help of a borrowed phone from my stepmum. i'm on whatsapp, instagram and viber, play games on my phone and constantly updated through facebook and twitter. feels exciting but i need to get a data plan first. heeh.
this should be it. i've got a few posts planned in my head and in the drafts that i've been meaning to write. will get to them soon.
goodnight and God bless!

went for the 30 Hour Famine Camp in Sunway Uni. it was really tiring. not only were we going without food for 30 hours, we had games like station games and treasure hunt which made me feel all the more exhausted. the above picture was the wristband for us to go in but it is also an upper arm band that measures whether a child is healthy or not. when the indicator shows red, then it means the child is too skinny.
then, on Sunday, it was the countdown concert in Stadium Melawati. lots of artists and radio DJs and famous people came to support. quite a few that i didn't know of, mostly the Chinese artists. :/ i was so zoned out that i was falling asleep during the last 2 hours of it. was mostly awake for Korean and English stuff like that dance group that did BAP and An Honest Mistake and random ppl who sang in English. this is definitely my first time falling asleep in the middle of a concert.
finally, Lee Hom arrived during the last 15 minutes of the countdown. the above is a collection of his faces. :D he performed 改变自己 and then did the countdown with us. he immediately left after but he did mention that he was in the midst of filming for a romantic comedy with Zhang Ziyi. so excited!
overall, it was tiring but worth it to know that our efforts and contribution is making a change is people's lives; lives that really need help. i doubt i'd do this again. being hungry scares me, i would donate or whatever to help but no more starving. D:
really glad i could spend time with most probably the longest friend i know, Steven. I've known him since i was 5 or 6 years old, that's more than a decade of friendship.
enjoying my hols right now! have a great week ahead!
God bless!

i am really glad i decided to go for this camp. its great being able to take a weekend off to spend time getting closer to God and learning more about Him. Pastor Steven Low was the speaker and it was such a blessing to have him in my group because i got some really good advice from him during our devotion time.
"If a guy opens the car door for a girl, either the car is new or the girl is new."
the fellowship was awesome. meeting new friends and spending time together forces me out of my bubble and teaches me to be more open about myself, i guess. they are such wonderful ppl too!
we had fun working together during games and brainstorming for the sketch. this was one of the reasons why i missed camp so much! the feeling of working together to achieve a common goal, when we laugh together, when we protect our treasure together, when we eat together, its really the feeling of unity. its nice to know i'm not alone and when i was freaking about the sketch, i still knew that they'll be there to pull it through. camps are good stuff!
the games were good! we had to make things out of fruits, caterpillar crawl, get bombed by water balloons, make sandballs and eat wasabi crackers (thank God, i got my question right!). the last game which was Lifeline was fierce! i got scratched on my arm by some girl trying to steal our treasure but we were goood and we won the game!
another highlight of the camp would be the Banquet Night. the guys in the camp drew names and had to pair up with whoever they picked and go to dinner with them. ^^ it was an interesting experience. it isn't often that you get guys to pull out chairs for you and be all nice and gentlemanly. keke. my 'date' was really sweet and kinda cute. :DD Campfire was really fun too. i learned an African Christian song! and had so much marshmallows, i felt like puking. heeeh.
"Hold on to Jesus~"
my group, the Fiery Falcon won which is so amazing! it was truly a happy moment. (: to my group members, Sheng Yi, Kevin, Gideon, Caroline, Sonia and Chareessa, thank you for the great time we had and may God bless all of you always!
its always sad when the camp draws to an end and we gotta get back to reality but the memories, the friends, the lessons from God that were acquired during this camp; I will always keep.
God is good all the time and all the time, God is good.

that would be my group brainstorming and coming up with some weird idea. lol. the camp has really changed me. now i can't look at something without thinking about revenue and publicity and sponsorship. the other day, i was passing by PGS and there was a board there that advertised KDU College and i was thinking about how they got it there, whether they had to pay for it, what was sponsored and stuff like that. seriously, my mind has gone beserk. ><
sorry for lack of camp pics.
do you know sharpening pencils can give you blisters? i have two. =.=
lol. night.

an email i got from weng kit. titled "Effective Tutorage"
First-year students at Med School were receiving their first Anatomy class with a real dead human body. They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a white sheet.
The professor started the class by telling them: 'In medicine, it is necessary to have 2 important qualities as a doctor. The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the human body.' For an example, the Professor pulled back the sheet, stuck his finger in the butt of the corpse, withdrew it and stuck his finger in his mouth. 'Go ahead and do the same thing,' he told his students.
The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes, but eventually took turns sticking a finger in the butt of the dead body and sucking on it. Each one tried his best not to puke. When everyone had finished, the Professor looked at them and told them, 'The second most important quality is observation. I stuck in my middle finger and sucked on my index finger. Now learn to pay to attention.'
LOL.

which really doesn't make sense. they are incomparable and the fact that it was made into a debate is well, weird and kinda dumb? lawl.
moving on, DC Camp 09 was mentally exhausting because of all the tasks and brainstorming and coming up with wild ideas that doesn't work. not only that, we woke up at 6am every morning to discuss and talk. it was tiring yet enriching. my group's like the awesomest ever although we have a name that sounds like a part of the intestines or something. Ductus which means leader in Latin. was reunited with two of my group members in last year's DC Camp, Joses and Hilda which was really cool cuz we were already comfortable with each other and could work well together. seriously, i love my group. Miriam, Taranya, Vivien, Fredson, Moses and for one day, Joel. we were the epitome of cooperation, teamwork and having fun at the same time. chehhhh, sounds like i'm exaggerating, right? i'm not.
the theme was "You The Leader". so the sermons were focused on how to make us effective leaders and stuff like that. in short, passion, servanthood leadership, no self-doubting, compassion, journey and responsibility. the sermons were very useful and really spoke to my heart since i kinda have to lead the Primers which i was quite fearful at.
Fraser's was cold, rained a lot, had wildboars running around and insects flying everywhere. another important element of the camp was my roommate! *drumroll* presenting Rachel Lee. yea, she was a great roommie. *grins*
if you wanna get an idea on how the tasks were, feel free to visit
Rachel's blog. cus she's the only one i saw who blogged about it. :D
why do i have the tendency to blog at such hours? sigh. gotta sleep. after i eat. lol. goodnight. pics will come soon.
send me, i will go.

i'll start off with the BB Annual Camp 08.
Venue: Felda Residence in Trolak, Sungkai
FIRST DAY
primers went by van. others by bus. reached there around 2pm? set up the tent. walked a really long way to the obstacle courses. had an icebreaker game called "Satu, Dua, Hutan". lol. there's where most of my scratches came from. we crawled, got carried over and through bars, balanced on a swinging plank and stood on a triangle stick over a pond filled with brown water and tadpoles. overall, it was teamwork and more teamwork. xD
walked all the way back. six girls in one bathroom is pretty hectic. LOL. had our dinner, first session and our night walk. Edwin who was walking in front of me was paranoid about insects biting him i think. he kept checking his leg.
God was gracious that night cus it rained and we ended up spending our night in hotel rooms with air con and beds. had red bean soup and dorayaki for supper. discussed bout our presentation for the next night.
SECOND DAY
morning exercise. walked to Anjung Restaurant for breakfast, buffet style. went back to campsite. did the flying fox. twice. xP after lunch, we had this test thing for the boys to get their Expedition Badge. we had to get bearings and use the compass and all that. kinda confusing at first but we got the hang of it after a while. after that, we did the low ropes which was as challenging as it was fun. my bruises all came from there.
Annual dinner and presentation were okay. which reminds me.
Shoes polished black, belts gleaming gold
chest out, stomach in, yea, that's how we roll
shoulders wide, caps slightly right
with eyes staring straight ahead
these uniforms can definitely get a girl high
lol. i'm telling you Boys Brigade's uniform is the best looking one among every uniforms. xD
presentation was suppose to be bout 10 minutes long but ours was quite short. it wasn't a competition anyway. i was amazed Guy could memorize the whole line he was suppose to 'preach'. i think if it was a competition, their group would have won. what with Calvin and his storytelling and Guy and his powerful 'preaching', it was pretty good.
then we had another session of course and 5 ppl accepted Christ. amen!
that night, we had to sleep in tents. but me, Jenny and Yian Fong slept in a tent in the hall. don't worry, we still suffered. it was as horrible as sleeping outside on the sand. it was still as warm and we still had a insects in our tent.
LAST DAY
started off with breakfast in Anjung Restaurant. then we headed straight to raft builing. after all our hard work building the raft, the guides told us we had to switch out rafts with the other groups. my group ended up with Wei Minh's raft. they got first on out raft while we got last. xD
due to lack of time, we didn't do the map drawing and knot tying session. ended up going home after lunch. pics are all underneath. erm, overall the fellowship was okay and since this is the first time i have built a tent and sleep in a forest, i'd say it was a pretty good camp. (:
walk in the light.

just came back from YACF camp today. at around 6pm. dead tired. muscle aches all over. gonna jump into bed after this post. its gonna be a long one though.
DAY 1
was nervous a bit about going to a camp where i know noone. went to Elim Church at 8am to meet up. the venue was MyGopeng Resort. about 45 minutes drive there. took Shas' car there. creepy la his driving. like we were riding in a roleercoaster. lol. reached there ahead of schedule. decided to go body rafting but it started to rain. so tak jadi. :( btw, the theme of the camp was "An Army".
we were separated into 7 groups. i was in Ptarmigan Track. lol. try pronouncing that. my group leader, Grace Foo. other members include Marcus Ng, Joon Yang, Eunice, Constance [nice name right?] and the overseer is Kar Mun. all really nice people. i'm missing them already. we had free time till 6pm.
prayer. was okay. don't remember really well. dinner.
session 1. NOTES: -end time army of God. -understand the agenda of Satan -each have our own God-given destiny -total surrender to God. which reminds me. the pastor is Ps. Benjamin Chew. from Spore. he came with his wife and a few other young ppl in their early 20s who were really nice too. really like the pastor though. in a way, he's a bit different from the other pastors i have seen cus he actually tells us what he intends to do. like he would say that after the sermon, he would have an altar call for whatever which was really cool cus that would prepare us beforehand on what to expect.
DAY 2
had morning exercise. synchronised star jump. nuff said. already had my muscles aching after that. prayer. breakfast. session 2. NOTES: -return to the life of holiness -return to God in first love -deal with sin areas. lunch. station games.
fun. tiring. really really tiring. had to pull myself across the pond while standing on a float in the pond. got stuck half way. had to jump into the muddy pool and swim to the other end. passed the lime using our feet and catching it at the end and biting it. really gross cus our feet were muddy and dirty. hats off to Jun Yang for doing it! ran cross-country style to fill up balloons. crawled commando style to collect red beans off the ground. drank eeky bread in coloured water in the wrong answer game. got dunked in the pool three times by Kerry. ><>session 3. NOTES: -an army armed with prayer and intercession -desperate soldiers -James 5:16. lights out.
DAY 3
same thing. exercise. this time we have to do some partner thing. prayer. breakfast.
session 4. NOTES: -evangelisation. -personal testimony. they thought us how to use the John 3:16 verse to tell others about Jesus. quite a good way. gonna try it on Jenny. :D
lunch. who's the general? a game. where we have to find the general. horrendous cus all the commitee are mean ppl. rachel made us dance to Low. shas had the girls do the duck walk twice to save the dudes from the grave yard. i kinda got the whole group to jump into the pond cus Kerry said i talked too much. lol. sorry, ppl! we did the chicken dance. twice. got dunked into the pool again. did the caterpillar butt crawl. 15 squats. the pokemon song and dance. yup, pure torture. we also yelled to clarence as instructed by theo: "YOU'RE NOT GAY ANYMORE. I'M SORRY. DON'T GET OFFENDED." xD
bla bla bla. session. didn't take notes. oops.
presentation. oh my. me=Trojan Horse. sigh. campfire. was really nice. the scouts really did alot to make sure the campfire went well. they had leeches and cuts and bruises all over when they went in the jungle to collect the wood and whatnots. so THANKS LOADS YA! slept at 5am.
DAY 4
last day. sad. woke up at 8am. ya, panda eyes. i know. prayer. breakfast. session 6. erm. no notes either. but it was about surrendering your life to God. to cross the line of No Return. read more in my
xanga blog la. xP
yea, that's it. i can guarantee i had more fun and experience compared to my sister who went for the United Live concert. lol. xD
God Bless!

DC Camp 08
Thursday, March 13, 2008
i would say this year was better than last year's. compared to last year where i was being a bit off and i didn't really got a lot from the sermons and prayers, this year was much better. i was sceptical about the camp cus it was just me and jill going and its not like we have very close friends there. but i knew i should go and i'm really glad i did. first day was okay. got to know what's my group and the members were okay too. met a few new friends from kota bharu. we had this mascot thing we were suppose to make. my group was Hudson Taylor. he was a British Protestant Christian missionary to China. a really cool guy. the worship was done by our own church. then we had an intro from Pastor Simon Tan all the way from Spore on the sessions. all the sessions were on the topic of issues faced by youths such as peer pressure, sex, materialism and substance abuse.day 2. prayer in the morning before breakfast. then session 2. the band weren't here yet so the worship was done by our church again. then the sermon. about the influence of media. well, for me, i would say the sermons this time were more to being educational. teaching us how to deal with them, how to avoid them and all that. the sermons were okay but they were kinda cliched. lunch. the band arrived by then. after lunch, it was station games. it was tiring. and the sea is really salty. and i got sunburnt. quite nice cus it was by the beach. oh, i had to bite this kaya pau which was really gross cus joses was biting it before me. not only that, there's sand all over it. eww right? during the free time, me and jill went to the swimming pool but endep up playing table tennis with the others.the band.
>> L to R: Phil, Amber, Mitch, Meldinner. prayer. session 3 about negative peer pressure. then sleep time.day 3. the usual. then it was session 4. it was about sex. quite funny. lunch. murderer hunt. ahh. it was horrible. was wearing long pants and i got wet. had to roll on the sand too. nearly won but didn't. sigh. nvm that. then dinner. session 5, about materialism. then there was altar call. this night was really good for me because God confirmed/reinstated a few things that i was really doubtful about. so yea, it was real good.day 4. last day. sob. session 6, about addictive substance abuse. erm. didn't really pay attention cus was trying to finish up the mascot. hope pastor won't read this. eek. then it was the presentation. ahhhh. i'm horrible at talking in front of ppl. finally announced the winner. we got second place. then it was all the camwhoring times. went to queensbay mall. reached home around 6-ish.so to sum it up, it was better fellowship for me this year although most of the times, they were bullying me. spiritually, i was awoken. i understood what's hope. and i finally believe that i do belong. that i wasn't overlooked, that i am in His eye. that He sees me and loves me. also found out i have unforgiveness in my heart. kinda still can't figure out who is it i can't forgive. and another thing, how do you forgive?? lol.yea. will post pics when i get them. ohh, all of us got free cd from the band. haven't heard it yet though.and i'm so proud ntg like last year happened. x]that's it. xoxoLabels: camp, DC 08
HUGE 07
Friday, December 14, 2007
it was flippin' AWESOME!!! lol. i keep writing that. but that's because its the truth. so hmm.. what have i learned from huge this year?? let me go thru my brain for a while. ok here goes:
the theme for this year's huge is
CHAMPION. its not just about crossing the line, its about how you cross it.
gah. it would have been easier if i had my camp booklet with me now. but i think its left in taiping. now i have to exercise my brain a bit. =.=
on the first night aka champ's nite 1+ ps clement preached. he talked about what it takes to be a champion and he used david and goliath as an example. i'm gonna be a bit random now cus i can't really rmb everything in details.
what now?? rite. the next day. i don't rmb much. as usual. my memory cannot be depended on. its too rosak adi. sesson 1+God reaches to us thru ways we understand. He speaks to us in our language. when He does miracles, He does them in a way that we could comprehend so that its easier for Him to reach us and to make us believe in Him.+[ps mike]
session 2+mixed messages. we should not live a double life. don't confuse Jesus on who we are. don't live an obedient faithful Christian life in church and when you leave the church, you become someone else. don't give God mixed messages. ps phil ashed those who wants to commit their lives to God to stand up. we stood up.+[ps phil]
champ's nite 2+ I AM. and we are not Him. and so we praise Him in everything we do.+[ps mike]
day 3. session 3+ beware of look good christianity. don't just wanna look good but be good as well. this is how we can reach the others.+[ps phil]
session 4+ justice, righteosness. to be a church without walls. to reach the poor and oppressed. God is with us if we are with them. a quote from Bono during the NAACP awards.+[ps mike]
champ's nite 3+ there were healing. i believe a lot of us felt His healing power. absolutely amazing! even when we stuffed up, even when we had ppl who hurt us, we must never forget that we are called to be His children. let His love in and He will heal us.+[ps phil]
the last day. sobz. session 5+ our treasures are stored in jars of clay. we are the jars of clay. we may be flawed and imperfect but His grace is sufficient for thee for His strength is made perfect in weakness. amen! lol. then we had the prayer tunnel. i love the prayer tunnel. lol.+[ps mike]
that's bout it i guess. oh ya. another thing. He told me to put off the fear. no more if's, no more but's. what He says i do without doubts. to have faith that He will lead me through. which is why i stood up and joined yes aka youth enrichment study. pray that my mum will let me go. lol.
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Phil 4:13Labels: camp, HUGE 07
